My name is Nate Sheff. I moved from Wisconsin to Connecticut in 2011 to pursue a graduate degree in philosophy. Since then, I’ve discovered the joys (and not-joys) of teaching and writing. I’ve learned they both draw on the same skills: understanding your audience, meeting them where they are, and teaching them what you know.
My blog covers mostly philosophy, and some other things.
I’ve also had my work published elsewhere online:
“A Respect for Old Things” at 3 Quarks Daily (July 3, 2023)
“What We’re Doing When We’re Doing Epistemology” at Aeon.co (November 2, 2021)
“Wilfrid Sellars, Sensory Experience, and the ‘Myth of the Given’,” at Psyche.co (March 17, 2021)
“Enjoying Vicious Artists” at iai.tv (September 4, 2018)
When I’m not doing this, I’m hiking with my partner and our dog, or reading with our cats.
